Stallions

We have two Lusitano stallions available for covering Lusitano and other breed mares. Our oldest stallion was approved for the studbook with 73 points and has proven himself in several disciplines. See our 'News page' for more pictures. Our cremello stallion Salitre was approved in October 2005 in Belgium for the APSL and in November 2005 for the German Studbook for Lusitano horses. He currently has a dark dun son with a Frisian mare and a palomino son with a Houston mare.

Bailarino (Retired)
Born in 1983, grey. Beautiful big classical stallion, height 165 cm. In 1986, age 3, he reached a sixth position and received a silver medal in Lisbon at the international Lusitano festival. One year later he got a fourth position in Colega for ridden stallions. He is very sensitive and has a golden disposition. He is very gentle to handle, has got an impressive passage and used to be ridden by a little ten year old girl. Breeder is Casal Branco, Bailarino is a son of Jaquetão. Since the spring of 2008 Bailarino is enjoying his pension in a field in the south of France.

Jacto
Born in 1991. Jacto has a special colour called 'golden dun' (with a copper shine and a dorsal stripe). It has been found that he carries the gene for chestnut. Jacto is above all very elegant. He passes on his perfect upper line and beautiful croup. He does not pass on many white marks. With bay mares there is a large chance on chestnut, dun or bay foals, while grey mares often get grey foals. In 2003 and 2005 he got a dun/smoke coloured foal from a grey mare and in 2004 his first chestnut daughter was born from a bay mare.  Jacto is 164 cm tall, and has a very comfortable trot. He is very sensitive and has a golden character. He is very gentle and obedient. He was ridden in the Portuguese Quadrille and performed in many shows and demonstrations. For nice pictures see www.arnd.nl and type "Jacto" at 'naam paard' ('name horse').

Salitre

We now have a cremello coloured stallion available for breeding as well. This stallion gives a high chance on special coloured foals (palomino when crossed with chestnut, or dun when crossed with bay). In the 100th episode of the Dutch magazine 'Bit' is an article about the cremello horses of the French School of Zingaro (Bartabas). Though you have to get used to the unusual colour, it is certainly something special. Salitre has a nice robust baroque conformation, a beautiful head and curly mane. His gaits are very rhythmic and straight. He is very easy to train, likes to work and has a very gentle character. He is 158 cm and has blue eyes.....

Salitre got a second position at the Lusitano Studbook day in Holland in 2004 for the 4 and 5 year olds!!

Autumn 2005 Salitre was approved as breeding stallion in Belgium and Germany.
